Just like that, it's over.......

All of the planning and preperation that goes into Christmas and then it's over, just like that!  I can't help but feeling a little down the first few days but got my mojo back today and I am looking forward to the new year and making a resolution to enjoy life more and to have more fun!  I have sort of gotten stuck in a rut for the last little while and I haven't been involved in a lot of things that I like to do and i am going to change that this year!  I know that life is short and the older I get, the more I realize that.  There are so many things  on my bucket list..  So I better get started!!!!
My winter village barn.  I didn't even put out the
whole village this year. It just takes so much space and  time and I never found enough time to do it!
She thinks she's a present!

Had a wonderful white Christmas!  My grandaughter, Cheyenne is two this year and she enjoyed opening her presents so much!  She would open one and then say, "ok, I'm ready for another one"!  She makes everything in my life magical when I see it through her eyes! My brother in law came in from North Carolina and got snowed in with us and got to stay and extra day!
This is some of the cross stitch projects that I worked on over the holidays!  Still not finished with the Santa and sleigh pic, but almost.  I should be able to finish it this evening then I am starting on a snowman picture. I hadn't made any cross stitch ornaments in years so I decided to make these. They are finished now and I will post some pics of them soon!   A couple of them are on their way to friends. Better late than never, I guess!
I have been feeding the birds during the cold and snowy weather.  I love watching them!  Been testing out my new lens for my camera too and have been able to get some pretty good pictures!
The view from my house looking off the mountain.
Last but not least, I'll leave you with some snowy scenes from my house in the appalachian mountains of southern West Virginia! Til next time.......Leisha

FaLaLaLaLa, Lalalala

Gosh, Christmas is coming so fast and I have nothing done! It has been so cold here!  Makes me not even want to go outside.  I am turning into my mother.  She doesn't go much of anywhere in the winter unless she has to.  One thing about it, I have spent so much time cross stitching lately that I have gotten several little ornaments done that I am going to sew up today and finish and I am so excited!   It's been several years since I've done any cross stitch Christmas ornaments!
Here's what I've been working on.  They are all Prairie Schooler designs which I just love!  Worked on 18ct.
I am also getting ready to do my first ornament swap and I am excited about that as well!  I have always wanted to find someone that liked doing the things that I liked as well and blogging has allowed me find lots of people who share my love for crafting, cross stitch, antiques and decorating!!!  I love reading and browsing all the other blogs!
It has been sooo cold here and the weatherman says that it is shaping up to be our coldest December ever!  Here are some pics of what it has looked like at my house lately!

And finally, some pics of my Christmas decor which is still a work in progress.  It seems like everyday, I add more and when I go to take it down, I am really gonna be sorry! lol

Excited!

I've been cleaning all evening. Hoping I can get things ready to decorate the house for Christmas real soon!  Changed the living room around yesterday with the help of my 2 year old grandaughter. lol   I was pushing furniture and she had her hands on my backside, pushing me, saying "I help you memaw"!  I know Christmas is going to be so great this year because she is a little older and  can get excited about  everything!
I spent last weekend alone at the farm in Ohio and surprisingly, I really enjoyed it!  I did some shopping, just worked on the house and finally got to make some signs using my new stencils! I've had them for a few weeks and all of my things to work with were in Ohio. Oh yeah, I went to a historic area in Parkersburg and took pictures of some of the old houses there.  I love looking at old houses, cabins, victorians, farms, whatever!  So here are some of thoses as well as some of my new signs!  Let me know what you think!

A little of this and that.....

Well, I am loving the weather this week!   Last week made me realize that I am not ready for the cold weather yet!  When I got to the farm last, my apple tree still had tons of little apples on it and I took these pics but I'm sure that they are gone now since it's been so cold!

I've been trying to organize my craft room and I have so much DMC floss that instead of seeing if I have a color to make a project with, I just buy what I need so that I don't have to look through all of it.  So I am hoping to take it from this.........

to this.......

This is a fall scene from the farm. I've really been missing it this week. I haven't been able to go there for three weeks!  That's probably the longest I have went all summer without visiting!

I love this cabin! It's in a state park here in West Virginia. It was moved to this spot from another location nearby and it's where husband asked me to marry him! Right there on those very steps!!

This is the latest project that I have completed.  It's from Prairie Schooler and I'm bummed that I didn't get it finished before Halloween, but I guess I'll have it for next year!
Until next time, hope everyone is having an aweome Fall and getting lots of projects finished!

Give me some ideas on how to finish these....

I recently completed these 2 embroidery pieces using patterns by Kathy Schmitz .  Not sure how they would look best completed. Should I frame them with a wood distressed frame, or use fabric to frame and back them and make wall hangings, or do you have any other cool prim  ideas?

Per request...

Well, I am posting a few pics of my house for you that have asked and I guess for you that haven't, as well. lol.  Not really been spending alot of time working on my house lately because I've been working on the farmhouse in Ohio.  It's really hard to find time to take care of both places and make them look the way that I want.  I guess the farmhouse will be a work in progress for a long time, but I am so thankful to have it! Getting ready for my daughters wedding this weekend so everything is kind of on hold at this time.

Hope you enjoy my pics!  I love roosters if you can't tell!  The cross stitched pic over the cabinet was made by me  The pie safe, my husband surprised me with last Christmas!  I think he did well, how about you? . Give me some comments/suggestions!

Well, Ive been busy lately, but I love it!  My dolls are still waiting for hair and clothes and I am officially addicted to making signs but I still had time to visit the Soakum Festival in Caldwell, Ohio and the antique shops in Zanesville where I took this amazing pic of the Zanesville Courthouse!  Isn't it grand! I also have had time to enjoy a few sunsets along the way!  Still getting the hand of this blog thing but found a couple of others blogs today that I truly loved looking at! Maybe I can figure out how to put a link on here to them at some point!  Happy creating!
